Jason Rights
Jason Rights is an Associate Professor of Psychology in the quantitative methods area, and Principal Investigator of the Rights Lab. A fun fact about Jason is that he enjoys partner dancing (lindy hop, blues, fusion, etc.). A boring fact about Jason is that he chose the name “Rights Lab” because that is his last name.
Graduate Students
Yingchi Guo
Yingchi is a second-year PhD student in both the quantitative area and the social/personality area. Her research focuses on the methodological advancement of multilevel models, including centering and standardization in cross-classified multilevel models, and ICC and effect size calculation for random-slope multilevel models. She’s currently seeking to extend her research into multilevel SEM. A fun fact about Yingchi: She was a shrimp researcher a few years ago, and her ‘participants’ were Litopenaeus vannamei (the white shrimp). Now she’s studying human beings. A boring fact about Yingchi: She loves Matcha latte, Matcha ice cream, Matcha everything.
Zhichun Qi
Zhichun is a first-year Master’s student. She finds multilevel modeling fascinating, but is still exploring her specific areas of interest. A fun fact about about her is that she likes writing short romance novels online, and has been paid to do so. A boring fact about her is that she really likes sour foods.

Muhan Yang
Muhan is a fourth-year honours student majoring in Psychology and minoring in Data Science. Her research interest lies in longitudinal data analysis in general, and she is currently fond of learning to build Shiny App and developing R packages. Outside of the lab, Muhan is a Sudoku enthusiast and enjoys singing along with her ukulele. Fun fact: Her family name has the same pronunciation in Mandarin as her Chinese zodiac Sheep. Boring fact: She can wear Crocs in all seasons
